About us
"Kenya Rural Food Centre Ltd: Transforming Agri-Food Systems – Powered by Agricultural Industrial Technical Application Project (AITAP)"
our Integrated Agri-Food Super Mini Mall, the Integrated Agri-Industrial approach is a closed-loop system where agriculture, processing, and trade are interconnected. Here’s is how we do refine the concept to fit the project:
1. Agricultural Production (Primary Sector)
Smallholder and commercial farmers supply raw materials (grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat).
Incorporation of climate-smart farming, hydroponics, and precision agriculture for efficiency.
Partnerships with cooperatives and local farmers to ensure a steady supply chain.
At the heart of our integrated agri-industrial concept are the Village Rural Collection Centres (VRCCs) and our dedicated village-based sales advisors. The VRCCs serve as crucial local hubs where farmers can deliver their produce for thorough quality control and aggregation, ensuring that only premium products proceed along our value chain. Simultaneously, our village-based sales advisors act as essential liaisons, equipping farmers with market insights, best practices, and technical support to enhance production and meet market demands. This seamless integration not only streamlines the supply chain but also empowers rural communities, driving sustainable growth and connecting local agriculture to dynamic urban markets across Kenya.
2. Agro-Processing & Value Addition (Secondary Sector)
On-site food processing units for flour milling, dairy processing, juice extraction, drying, and packaging.
Development of ready-to-cook meals, organic products, and food supplements.
Integration of waste-to-energy solutions (biogas from organic waste) and recycling of by-products.
"In our integrated agri-industrial model, Village Rural Collection Centres (VRCCs) and dedicated village-based sales advisors empower farmers by offering support across multiple value chains, including goat rearing, poultry farming, and rabbit meat production. VRCCs collect and ensure quality, while sales advisors provide market insights, training, and technical guidance, helping farmers meet quality standards and efficiently reach urban markets through a streamlined supply chain."
3. Trade & Distribution (Tertiary Sector)
Establishment of farmers' markets, retail shops, and e-commerce platforms within the mini mall.
Direct-to-consumer sales via agri-marts, farm-to-table restaurants, and food kiosks. Logistics and storage facilities (cold rooms, silos) for bulk trading and exports.
4. Training, Research & Innovation
Creation of an agri-business incubator to support startups and young entrepreneurs.
Collaboration with universities and research institutions for capacity building, training, and new product development.
Introduction of digital agriculture platforms (AI-driven supply chain management, mobile-based farmer extension services).
5. Women & Youth Empowerment Programs
Vocational training in agri-processing, marketing, and financial management.
Access to microfinance and investment funds to support agribusiness startups. Inclusion of women and youth in decision-making and leadership roles.
6. Sustainability & Community Impact
Implementation of organic farming, regenerative agriculture, and water conservation methods.
Social programs to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance food security.
Encouraging cooperative business models SACCO included for small-scale farmers.
Final Outcome:
our Integrated Agri-Food Super Mini Mall act as a one-stop hub for agricultural production, processing, trade, education, and sustainability—enhancing food security, economic growth, and rural industrialization.
